Besides NOT being true, it’s stupid….. Many Religions have a self
improvement goal and “personally” helping others is a way to improve
your own core values.

You believe that you can abdicate your human responsibilities to the
government(which is NOT human) and be a better person by voting to steal
from your neighbor and give it to the guy down the street.

You want to have a PROXY conscience called government, do the right
thing in your moral absence.
