 Striving for Mediocrity

The teachers and their unions are dumbing your kids, It 's true, teachers are told not to go the extra mile. The Merit pay recently added to the teachers incentives to do a good job, is not working. The jealousy and rancor from the rank and file teachers is holding back the few that exert that extra in pursuit of smart kids and bonus pay.

I've watched  teachers work weekends and nights to prep for class and meet with parents. I've watched as these other, so called educators, position and cause trouble and use the bureaucracy to halt the forward motion of good teachers.

The plan seems to be to make it all equal(they don't like complaints from parents) and in an effort to thwart the parents complaints they us administration to put the brakes on the teachers that make them look less than adequate.   This equality thing arises at every turn in the schools today, any teachers or students that excel are suspect and the implied thought is that they have some sort of unfair advantage and therefore the playing field must be leveled.  The prime directive is to hold these achievers back so that all are equal. The attempt to get the less exemplary students to advance "are passed by" in lout of the easier rout of slowing the advanced ones.
