How much money does it take to screw in a compact fluorescent light bulb?
About US$4.28 for the bulb plus labour -- unless you break the bulb. Then
you, like Brandy Bridges of Ellsworth, Maine, could be looking at a cost
of about $2,004.28, which doesn't include the costs of frayed nerves
 and risks to health.

Where can I find this legislation?

Legislation Would Ban Incandescent Lightbulbs, Favor CFLs
California Assemblyman Lloyd Levine is expected to introduce legislation this week to make his state the first to ban incandescent lightbulbs, Reuters reports (via GrooveyGreen). The “How Many Legislators Does it Take to Change a Lightbulb Act” would ban incandescents by 2012 in favor of compact fluorescent lightbulbs.

California was the first state to mandate cuts in greenhouse gas emissions, targeting a 25 percent reduction in emissions by 2020.

The answer to "“How Many Legislators Does it Take to Change a Lightbulb...”"

One... (She)/he holds it up to the socket, and waits for the world to revolve around him/her

Start looking in California it's being written as we discuss it.

Some places they work OK other places incandescent works better. These bulbs don't like cold... under 32 degrees, fluorescent lighting flickers and moisture plays havoc with them.

Do these legislating zealots, realize that there are millions of different people that are in millions of different places.

How do you incubate chicken eggs? Incandescent bulb heat.

That's why it is a VOLUNTARY PROGRAM.  lol

It is being proposed that laws dictate the VOLUNTARY PROGRAM. lol

Why not let people decide where they can save watts.
